Why does covering a credit card with paper make it work when it is demagnetized or scratched? - credit card point of sale

If you would like to "bad" message to the point of sale (register know), why it works when you scan the magnetic strip of paper or plastic?

If the card has been demagnetized, it can not make work the card. All credit card information is contained in the magnetic strip on the back of the card. If your credit card information is lost and not demagnetize the card to work during a strike in a card reader.

However, if the card is scratched a little bit - not enough to put into the card reader, can be a piece of paper to work in the plastic bag together to the reader to confuse the change in magnet (magnets microscopic region) to real data of the credit card.
