If I were you, I'd be very suspicious. Do you approve a secret and never told? Might have been abducted. I can not for a single reason not to tell you, think of your medical history, if you do not know.
I do not know where you live, but here in Canada, the doctors will give you copies of your complete medical history, from birth, if you ask.
