Are movie theaters becoming obsolete? - how much will it cost to have a home movie theater

Thanks to technology, home theater and improve more and more affordable with the rising cost of a trip to the local theater, theater has become obsolete? Instead of a film are immediately released on DVD. Two theaters, tickets cost $ 20 or more. The average DVD is about $ 15. This is worth a movie?

I understand your position. I think there are some movies on the big screen. The Star Wars films are a must on the big screen, despite the advantage of the DVD. The small screen is not just. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a completely different movie on the TV screen from the night the film with a lot of cult hit in the dressing room. But most films are not good in the original format. You do not hear crying babies, or be rude to someone, plus it can stop the movie and go to the toilet when you need results.

Movies are a social quality. He turns to leave the house and not bad for a first date activity. You can still moments of awkward silence for a moment, and if the movie does not even mention the movie and then you can always talk about the film, if you have problems with talking points. The termination of a dinner and a movie can remain comfortably at home.

Passage from the life of the workers suck and daytime televisionis a spiritual desert. It's good to see a good collection of films and special features DVD of the experience can be better than the theater.

I love the theater! No matter how the fantasy of a home theater is not comparable, there is an atmosphere of films that can not achieve anything else. He comes from a group of strangers who gather to watch a movie, and often their reactions to the whole audience (laughter, gasping in fear, etc.) makes it so much fun!

Moreover, the image is larger, the sound is better and more exciting. I wish I could see the three Lord of the Rings movies in the theater again ....

Ever. The only way is to watch a movie in a theater and not on a TV screen. You need the big screen to really see a movie. And if you go to the cinema, on Tuesday, you'll pay $ 4.24 for an adult ticket and not $ 10.00. Yup .... Toronto

They are short IMO business. The ticket price is still rising, and I'm not willing to pay more than 4-5 times per year, as it seems. Netflix and I pay $ 20 per month and get about 15 movies to watch.
I like the experience of the big screen, and I do not think home theater is still get so big. $ 6 for a matinee ticket and another $ 5 for popcorn is a waste. It can not be justified, too often. When I was in Seattle, I met a $ 3 theater and go at least once a month. They showed films, had the theaters.

Bud - the magnitude of the costs, it is not. Sometimes there is a film that has only on the big screen, and its increasingly be seen as a fun night ... But even here I found my partner and buy a film that in some foods and enjoy our home theater. BGU

When television was invented, people have predicted the end of the cinema.

If the cable was invented, people have predicted the end of the cinema.

When the VHS and DVD were later invented, people said the end of the cinema.

As a Blockbuster Video and Video Rental debut, people have predicted the end of the cinema.

If you per-view and video-on-demand pay to have their debut, people have predicted the end of the cinema.

Came when downloading movies over the Internet, people said the end of the cinema.

There are cinemas yet, and ticket sales contact record profits in the last five years.

Companies are not everywhere. You are here to stay.
